I took this photo of a British veteran in November 2008 when I was in Ypres (Ieper) for the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War. I'm sure this old soldier had many memories.

Image of the day
Regular readers will know how fascinated I am by space. Every time I see photos of the heavens I am amazed at the handiwork of God. Here's a shot of Dione, one of the moons of Saturn, which is in the background. It was taken by the Cassini space probe.
